How do I get an SSL certificate for my domain name?

We don't currently offer SSL certificate purchases directly within POP because others can offer them far cheaper. Popular sites exist which buy SSL certificates at wholesale pricing. Because we're all about getting you the best deal, we prefer to recommend these third parties for purchasing your SSL certificates to secure your domain name.

There are two great options for obtaining an SSL certificate depending on your website's needs.

Free SSL Certificate from LetsEncrypt

If you are running a site that's not selling anything (i.e. not an e-commerce or SaaS site), obtaining a free SSL certificate from LetsEncrypt may be a great option.

This may not be the best option for business related sites as there are no assurances associated with these certificates.

Purchase an SSL Certificate from ssls.com

In the case you're selling a product, service, or are running a legitimate online business, we strongly advice you purchase an SSL certificate from a third party source. We recommend using https://ssls.com as they have some of the best pricing for certificates in the industry.

For example, they currently run a special on a PositiveSSL certificate for $4.99.

Please be mindful of the different features that come with different levels of SSL certificates such as Wildcard, Multi-Domain, and EV certificates. Each certficate may also have various levels of protection (assurance and warranties) available to you.
