What are the MX Records for Simple Mail?

If you're having trouble sending or receiving email with Simple Mail, you may need to double check that you have created the necessary DNS records for the service.

If you are using POP's Name Servers

If you're using POP's Name Servers and have access to the Simple DNS tab, you should login to POP and verify that the Simple Mail service is online. If it's showing as offline, you will need to tap on the toggle to turn it online.

If you are using Third Party Name Servers

In the case you've changed your Name Servers to point to a third party service, you'll need to create the following DNS records in order to properly send and receive email with Simple Mail.
Record Type Hostname Content/Value Priority
TXT @ v=spf1 mx ~all 0

Please note that a record type of "@" refers to your root domain. Some hosting providers may represent your root domain as a period (".") or by typing the domain name itself (""). You may need to ask your hosting provider if you're having trouble.

It's also worth mentioning that you can only have one SPF (the TXT record above) record for your domain name. If you already have an SPF record, you will need to modify it to include mx just before the trailing ~all or -all.

If you're not sure how to create these DNS records or are still having trouble, you may need to reach out to the third party's technical support team and ask them how you can create the DNS records for your domain. It would be beneficial to copy and paste the table above in your email so they can assist you more quickly. You could also share this document with them which may be the easiest way for them to help.
